Prairie Dress

With the popularity of the calico dress these days, and my serious love of San Francisco in the 1970's, you hardly expect me to ignore the craze...especially when I have so many great vintage trims and lightweight cotton prints stashed away.

This dress is made of a soft, light, cotton lawn with sweet pink and lavender flowers on a black background. The skirt is three tiers of gathered layers, each with a row of cotton cluny lace at the seam. The bodice has a high neck in the back that opens up to a scoop front, and laces up the center front with delicate ribbon. The romantic sleeves are full and gathered at the top, and snug at the cuff with ribbon lacing instead of buttons. The bodice is lined with lightweight pink cotton.

It measures approximately 38" at the bust and 29" at the waist, and has a sash to snug it up. The skirt measures 37" from the waist to the hem. Please measure yourself carefully, and if you have any questions regarding fit, give me a shout.
