This gathered cotton skirt is truly one of a kind. I found this amazing vintage Asian border print at an estate sale and knew right away it had to be a gathered skirt. Trouble was, it wasn't quite long enough to get the fullness I usually like to put into these skirts. So, I created a deep box pleat in front and back with contrasting palm green to peek out when you walk. Hubba, hubba!
It has a 30" waist, and I can include some scrap fabric in the event you'd like to have it altered to be larger or smaller- it can be done, just not by me. (Once a garment leaves my sewing table, it's gone). The length measures 26", with a 2" deep hem, in case you'd like to make it a bit longer. Alas, no pockets. By the time I did the front and back pleats, I didn't want to interrupt the print by putting seams on the sides. It zips in the center back, and has a skirt hook and eye at the waistband.
Fabric is pre-shrunk, so washing in cold water will be fine.
